Bridge Appeal 2018
This January we are launching our Bridge Appeal. As many of you know, the wooden bridge to the east of the House has been out of use for several years and is sorely missed by many who value the location and interest that it brings. However, we are determined to replace it this year. After a process of tendering, The Management Committee have selected a local contractor and the total cost is £24,000, which includes the cost of demolition, removal of the old bridge and supply and building of the new bridge. The new bridge will look similar to the old and will be wide enough for wheelchairs and mobility scooters to safely navigate.
To enable us to achieve this ambitious project, we will need to rely on donations from individuals and groups. Thanks to a legacy and donations already pledged, we have 10% of the cost, but there is, of course, a long way to go. All donations will be recorded within the fabric of the bridge. Personal donations can be gift-aided if the donor is a current tax-payer.
If you would like to contribute to our Bridge Appeal, donations can be made via cheque, BACS transfer or card, please telephone us on 01403 741220 for further details.
Become a Volunteer
We are always looking for volunteers and there are a range of opportunities for you to contribute to the life of St. Cuthman’s. We are pleased to announce that we now have volunteers helping out with flower arranging and maintaining the Library.
We are still looking for volunteers to help with House and Grounds Maintenance, we will be offering a special week in March 2018 when guests will be able to stay at a reduced rate in exchange for help working on projects in the grounds. We are also especially looking for a Horologist to look at our Grandfather clock in our Entrance Hall.
If you are interested in any of the above, please contact the office on 01403 741220 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
